Start With the Whole Setting

A pre-storm tree review begins with observations made from the ground. Think about changes you have noticed since the previous season and the parts of the property where a damaged branch could affect access. Include paths, parking areas, and outdoor seating.

Keep notes on visible damage, previous branch loss, and recent changes around the tree. Share those details when arranging an assessment, rather than assuming that a particular cut or treatment is needed. The aim is to identify questions before severe weather brings them into sharper focus.

What to Observe

  • Changes in leaves, buds, bark, roots, or branch structure.
  • New leaning, cracking, hanging limbs, or movement around the root area.
  • Construction, soil compaction, drainage changes, or recent storm exposure.
  • Clearance needs around the home, driveway, paths, and utility areas.

Plan the Next Step

Discuss your observations through our Storm Response service page, where you can explore the next steps for your property.
